Modelling

The following kits have been produced over the years that will allow the modeller to build a model of this aircraft.

To date no kit exists of this aircraft and I know of no conversion available. The modeller will have to do his own conversion work to shorten the fuselage of the Revell 1/144th scale A340-300 as required.

Colours

The aircraft are in the standard post 1997 colours consisting of an all-white fuselage with South African logos and national flag tail colours. The wing tip fins had the national flag colours on them. The aircraft type name is carried on rear fuselage just forward of rear door and registration preceded the national flag level with the bottom of the rear door.

After SAA membership of the Star Alliance group was approved in 2006 a small Star Alliance logo added to them between the forward entrance door and the cockpit windows.

Decals

At the time of writing no dedicated A340-200 decals for a SAA aircraft have been produced. It should be possible to adapt those for the A340-600 to your model.
