Airbus A319-100 (August 2004)

The smallest Airbus version operated by SAA the baby bus is the latest type of aircraft on SAA’s inventory. Replacing the aging Boeing 737-200 series on the domestic routes the first A319 arrived in 2004.

Modelling

The following kits have been produced over the years that will allow the modeller to build a model of this aircraft. 

Revell has a 1/144th scale kit of this aircraft in their range.

Colours

The aircraft are in the standard post 1997 colours consisting of a white fuselage with South African logos and national flag tail colours. The aircraft type name is carried on rear fuselage just forward of rear door and registration preceded the national flag level with the bottom of the rear door.

After SAA membership of the Star Alliance group was approved in 2006 a small Star Alliance logo was added to the aircraft between the forward entrance door and the cockpit windows.
